Twisted Laurie Halse Anderson

Laurie Halse Anderson inspires and really gets to people with this terrific book. Twisted is a great novel that any type of reader can enjoy, it sends a message and can open up your eyes at some points. The main character Tyler has a very rough life, one that no one can imagine unless they were in his shoes. At home Tyler has to deal with his father who is always angry no matter what, at school he is bullied terribly by some of the kids. Tyler gets busted for doing graffiti on the school and this seems to be his turn around. After the long work outdoors during the summer to pay for his actions he figures himself out and suddenly a young attractive girl notices him and likes him. But going back to school is not what Tyler wants, he claims he likes the community service because he is good at digging holes and that his life is not good at school. At school he challenges himself by taking 3 AP courses, but this may not have been the best idea considering that he has trouble in most of his classes right from the start. Tyler’s best friend yoda is a very intelligent kid and does well in school but Tyler finds himself failing almost all of his classes. This is a book that you will not regret reading, it covers life lessons that many people will go through and some you could never imagine.

The perks of being a wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

The perks of being a wallflower was an interesting book about a boy named Charlie, his life, and how he gets through high school. In this book, charlie must face the ups and downs of high school, which involves figuring out who he is and how he feels. I enjoyed this book. it was somewhat relatable, showing how charlie must discover who he is and he must decide to live and “participate in life” instead of just being a wallflower and observing life. i would rate the quality of this book from one to ten at a 9. it was very well written and had very good imagery. i would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys young adult novels about realistic adventures and romance, along with coming of age.

Ready Player One By Ernest Cline

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline is a fascinating book. A complete sci-fi thriller than someone who isn’t that into science fiction can enjoy. Ever wonder if virtual reality became real in the future? That’s how this book is made. A  wild hunt for buried treasure deep within the depths on many virtual reality puzzles, after many years a great amount of people gave up hope of finding, except for the main character Wade. This books tells the story of Wade’s journey through this virtual world and I highly recommend it to everyone due to the quality of the writing and constantly evolving storyline.

Wise Guy By Nicholas Pileggi

The Main character Henry Hill joins the Lucchese mob at a very young age because of his curiosity of the fancy cars and shiny jewelry. The story is from henrys point of view as he encounters many obstacles involving dangerous and illegal actions. He lives a thrilling life but very risky. If you enjoy books about mobs or murder books that make you not want to put the book down because you always want to know what’s next then I strongly suggest you look more into the book! There’s a popular movie called Goodfellas based off wise guy. I’m not a book worm but I really enjoy books that always have action and keep me interested.

March book one by john lewis

The book march by john lewis is my opinion one of my favorite books because it takes the form of a comic book to make it a little different from most books, but it still tells an amazing stories of the congressmen john lewis and some of the adversity and hardship he had to face to acquire his positions as congressmen and meeting and working with people you could never imagine. I would recommened this book to people who are really into history, or finding out more of segregation and the hard times of racisim.

Book Review- I Am Number Four

“I Am Number Four” is a science fiction book. It’s full of suspense and thrills whenever new events unfold. It’s about a kid, John Smith who is on the run from an alien race who are trying to kill 8 others that are just like John, which are also from a different planet. They were sent there as kids, and were the only ones who made it.  that are trying to blend in and not attract attention to each other. They want to find each other and unite to maybe even fight back. With foreshadowing events, and a steady but very intense plot that unfolds, the end of the book is explosive with unavailing events and it’s a surprising/thrilling conclusion. It’s book one of a whole series, which events continue and tell the stories of others like John Smith, as well as John Smith himself.

The Fault In Our Stars

The Fault In Our Stars is a novel about two teenagers with cancer that fall in love. It is very bitter-sweet and not your average love story. It is not too difficult to read, but at the same time the main characters have a very mature thought process. Once you pick it up you will not want to put it down. Before this novel I was not much of reader but this had me reading in all of my spare time. I recommend this romance novel to anyone who is looking for a love story with a huge plot twist.

The lone survivor

The lone survivor was a fantastic book. This book follows the events of operation redwing that took place in the Middle East. The author Marcus Luttrell is a member of an elite team called the navy seals. The book tells about the hardships his brothers and him endured during operation redwing. The book also talks about what was going on back in America at the time. The lone survivor gives you a new look on the war that is going on in the Middle East. It gives you a realization of the physical and mental toll that it takes on people. This book gives me new appreciation to what the men and women are doing for our country and I thank them. I would recommend this book for any reader it was just amazing.

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

The Book Thief in my opinion was a pretty good book. It is taken place in a town inside of Germany called Molching. The main characters name in the book is Leisel Meminger. She is abandoned by her mother early in the book and is forced to live with a new family. Her new foster parents are Hans and Rosa Hubberman. This book is very descriptive and interesting. It is some what similar to The Diary of Anne Frank. I believe that if you are into historical books that you will enjoy reading this book. I would recommend it.

Accomplice by Eireann Corrigan

“It’s all fun and games till someone gets hurt” that’s the best way to describe this heart-wrenching novel. Finn and Chloe just like the rest of us want to get into their dream schools. There’s just one problem .. Neither of them stick out or have that wow factor. The two of them set out to change that. By faking Chloe’s abduction to receive nationwide attention. Things seem to be going well until something happened no one would have expected. Your heart will be pounding while you read this page turning drama filled with plot twists and heart breaks. Most teenage kids applying to college would love this book
